Hot chocolate or hot cocoa, usually a hot beverage containing melted chocolate or cocoa powder, hot milk or water and sugar. It is thought that the first chocolate drink was made by the Mayans about 2000 years ago. By the 1400s, cocoa drinks had been an important part of Aztec culture.
